The five sauces capture the variety and richness of flavours that characterise various states in the US, from eclectic New York, down to the smoke pits of the deep south, and west to the dude ranches of California.
Louisiana BBQ Sauce combines the classic taste of barbecue with Creole spice and peppers, while South Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce pays homage to the German settlers who introduced mild, yellow mustard to the southern state.
Medium Buffalo Sauce brings a hot, spicy flavour to chicken wings and drumsticks, and creamy Buttermilk Dressing adds a rich, punchy kick to salads and sandwiches.
Finally, an existing product, Lion’s popular Maple & Bourbon BBQ Sauce with its sweet maple, rich bourbon and BBQ smoke, has been brought into the Americana range.
Assistant Brand Manager Charlotte Kemp said: “Americana answers the call of the foodie pioneers seeking the big, hearty, satisfying foods of the Land of the Free.
“American-inspired food has really captured the imagination of customers who have had enough of food fads and hipster diets and instead want to get stuck into big, hearty portions of spicy, rich, flavoursome food.
“Americana makes it simple for all kinds of operators to put a real taste of the US on their menus and pull in hungry customers.”
Americana is being launched in August 2017 via Bidfood.
