Global Marketing Director Foodservice
Rachel’s knowledge of Lion sauces is second to none. Having nurtured the brand since AAK acquired it in 2006, Rachel knows each sauce, dressing and condiment inside out.
She has been at the heart of the development of many of the products and the personality, purpose and values of the brand. She has expert understanding of the huge variety of ways they can be used and an endless stream of ideas for making them work harder for chefs.
Now Global Marketing Director for AAK’s Foodservice division, Rachel’s role includes monitoring food trends and bringing them to life for Lion’s customers through the versatile range of products.
“One of the most exciting things about Lion is our focus on keeping track of food trends and helping chefs and caterers bring them into their own menus, simply and conveniently,” says Rachel.
“Lion brings inspiration and innovation to many kitchens, whether the dishes are traditional favourites or up-to-date modern classics.”
Rachel has put her heart and soul into building the Lion brand, which is one of the reasons why each product in the range has passion and expertise in every drop.
Foodservice Customer Innovation Manager
Give Helen a Lion sauce, and she’ll show you a dozen ways to use it.
Buzzing with ideas and fuelled by a lifelong love of food and cooking, Helen is Lion’s Customer Innovation Manager.
Helen visits customers to demonstrate products in application, whether that involves making sandwiches, building gourmet burgers, or cooking dishes using Lion products as ingredients.
“One customer wanted to reduce the number of sauces on their list,” says Helen. “We took them six Lion sauces and showed them 10 different ways to use each one. The versatility of Lion products really takes people by surprise!”
Back at Lion HQ, Helen works with the team to develop new ideas, ensure products comply with new food regulations and meet health and nutrition targets.
“Working with Lion is really exciting,” says Helen. “The sauces are so versatile and can be adapted to suit a huge range of settings, from high-end pub chains to high-street cafes and QSRs. A BBQ sauce, for example, is great as a topping or dip, but you can also cook with it, use it as a glaze or a baste, grill with it, use it on a pizza – I love sharing all those ideas with customers.”
Helen’s top tip: “Last week I visited a customer who loves using Lion Cajun & Tomato Dressing in premium sandwiches, and I showed them how they could also use it baked on to cod. Simple, yet sensational!”
