Help customers start their day with a touch of sunshine with some blues-busting breakfasts that will put smiles on their faces!
Celebrity chef and Lion brand ambassador Ben Bartlett suggests transforming traditional breakfast ingredients like eggs into exciting dishes – how about huevos rancheros (spicy Mexican eggs) for starters?
Ben says: “Fry some onions, garlic and peppers till soft, add tinned tomatoes to the mix, and bring heat to the sauce with some Lion Very Hot Chilli Sauce. Serve with fried eggs and grated cheese in a tortilla wrap. It’s a delicious, filling dish that can be eaten at the table or on the go.
“Handheld breakfast burgers are another excellent way to cater for the time-poor breakfast crowd in need of a quick, filling meal. Create a version of this fast-food favourite by serving a sausage patty, fried egg and smoked streaky bacon in an English muffin, with a big blob of Lion Sticky BBQ Sauce on top for a contemporary twist. The same combo also works really well as a wrap for easy eating on the go.
“Providing some healthy, nutritious and filling alternatives for the breakfast crowd is essential. Avocado is a great base for a healthy, on-trend breakfast. Versatile and easy to prepare, it’s the cornerstone of some fantastic dishes.
“Avocado on toast is simple, easy and delicious – mix ripe avocado with lime juice, salt, pepper and a dash of Lion Piri Piri Hot Sauce for a bit of a kick. Serve on brown toast. Alternatively, you can fill a pitta with the same mix and add a fried or poached egg for an extra protein hit. You can even add it to soft scrambled eggs to add an extra dimension to a popular breakfast staple.”
